2D Barcodes

Another technology solution we are excited about is 2D Barcodes.

What are they?
Briefly, linear barcodes became widely used as a way to hold information but a new market requirement developed for codes which could hold more data in a smaller space.

2D QR(Quick Response) Barcodes emerged in response to these needs, containing information in both the vertical and horizontal directions, whereas a traditional bar code only contained data in one direction - and so were able to contain a considerably greater volume of information.

Over the last 6 years, 2D codes have become widely used across the Far East and are now already used every day by over 80 million consumers. The most frequent use of 2D Barcodes is to give fast, convenient access to the mobile internet.
